Benjamin Mathews

Dr. Benjamin Mathews is an Assistant Professor of Music and Gretsch Distinguished Scholar of Guitar and Music Industry at the Fred and Dinah Gretsch School of Music at Georgia Southern University. He has previously taught as Adjunct Music Faculty at Utah State University, Brigham Young University-Idaho, College of Southern Idaho, and briefly at Indiana University. He has previously taught as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at University of Southern California and Indiana University. Dr. Mathews was previously an on-camera guitar and bass instructor, in-studio quality control agent, and music content creator for Fender's groundbreaking online learning platform Fender Play. He has also acted as producer, songwriter, and session musician for many studio, film, television, and stage projects.
