About

Jeffrey Schiman is an Associate Professor of economics in the Parker College of Business. He is currently the department’s Solomons Fellow of Economics and is a past recipient of the college's William A. Freeman Professor of the Year Award and the W.A. and Emma Lou Crider Award for Excellence in Teaching. He received his Ph.D. and MA in economics from the University of Illinois at Chicago and his BA in economics from Calvin College. Dr. Schiman's research focuses on applied microeconomics including the fields of labor, health, and education where he has studied the labor market for K-12 educators, the determinants of student academic and labor market success, and health investments and health outcomes.
