About
Dr. Kathryn L. Haughney (she/her) is a professor of Special Education who teaches about, conducts research with, and advocates for students with mild, moderate, or extensive support needs and their families. As the co-program director for the MED SPED program, she teaches methods for instruction and applied behavior analysis in the classroom. Her published works evaluate inclusive academic instruction strategies for all students, especially those who rely on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Her research also explores the needs of CLD learners, learners with the most extensive support needs, AT applications, and supports for the transition to post-school life. She is the co-executive editor of the Journal of Case Learning and Exceptional Learners (JCLEL).
