Prof. Waterfield was an Assistant Professor of Public Health Informatics and Health Administration at Georgia Southern University. Prof. Waterfield passed away in 2025.
She received Doctor of Public Health in Public Health Leadership from Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health at Georgia Southern University. She also had a bachelor’s degree in Community Health Education and MBA with an emphasis in Health Services Administration from Georgia Southern University. Dr. Waterfield had over 15 years of experience in health administration, marketing, and education. She worked for major medical centers and non-profit organizations, as well as domestic and international health organizations. She had experience that ranged from bioethics to volunteer management to ethics case coordinator. During her career in health administration, she advocated for Home Health services and assisted with the recruitment of nurses from various parts of the world. As a faculty member, she taught courses in public health administration, informatics, and health education and promotion. Her main research focuses were the Public Health Workforce, Health Informatics, and the effects of the social determinants of health on public health practice. She also currently worked closely with Dr. Gulzar Shah and the other TRIUMPH consortium members
