Dr. Laurie Gould received her Ph.D. in Public Affairs from the University of Central Florida in 2008. Her dissertation examined classification and supervision issues for female offenders in the community corrections setting. She has published on a variety of topics in corrections including the use of corporal punishment by the international community and the supervision of female offenders in the community. She maintains an active research agenda that includes comparative penology, gender issues in punishment, and state failure. Her teaching interests include comparative world justice systems, corrections, and research methods.
