Prof. Holt joined Georgia Southern University in 1996 and retired in 2024.

Dr. Holt earned her BS (1987) from Arkansas Technical University and her MEd (1993) and PhD (1995) from the University of Arkansas. She retired following a distinguished career that spanned 28 years with Armstrong State and Georgia Southern Universities. Dr. Holt’s scholarship includes an edited book, eleven refereed conference proceedings, sixteen refereed articles/book chapters, and an extensive record of refereed conference paper presentations at international/national conferences. She has a strong record of administrative service including President of the Georgia Southern Faculty Senate (2020-2021), Graduate Program Director of the MEd in Adult Education (2018-2020), department head (1997-2003), and two terms as interim department head (2009-2012). During her last posttenure review (2023), Dr. Holt was recognized for noteworthy performance in teaching and service. She presents a consistent record of quality performance as a faculty member at Georgia Southern, and her many contributions to the institution and its students make her well deserving of the title Professor Emerita of Adult Education and Higher Education Administration.*
