About
Dr. Ram Krishna Mazumder joined the Department of Civil Engineering and Construction at Georgia Southern University in Fall 2025. He earned his Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University, Ohio. He also completed a Postgraduate Specialization in Geological and Climate-Related Risk from the University of Geneva, Switzerland, an M.S. degree in Earthquake Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology in Bangladesh.
Prior to joining Georgia Southern, Dr. Mazumder served at Arcadis, where he worked on resilience planning for water and wastewater infrastructure improvement. He was also an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Earthquake Engineering Research, Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh.
His research focuses on the application of probabilistic methods for risk and resilience analysis of civil infrastructure systems and buildings subjected to natural hazards. He currently serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Pipeline Systems Engineering and Practice, ASCE, and the Journal of Structural Design and Construction Practice, ASCE.
