He designed the Master of Public Health in epidemiology and helped develop the Doctor of Public Health in biostatistics. He also led the development of the Doctor of Public Health in epidemiology. During his tenure, Dr. Vogel has taught numerous courses in biostatistics, including Regressing Analysis, Experimental Design, Categorical Data Analysis, Survival Analysis, Missing Data Analysis, and Longitudinal Data Analysis. He has directed three dissertations involving missing data, several dissertations on other aspects of public health, and served as a member on at least a dozen other dissertations in public health. Dr. Vogel served as the first chair of the Department of Biostatistics and then the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Environmental Health Sciences. His research consists of over 250 publications and presentations in medicine and statistical methodology. Dr. Vogel's work has been published in a variety of journals, including American Heart Journal, British Journal of Cancer, Journal of lnterventional Cardiology, New England Journal of Medicine, Statistics in Medicine, Statistical Methods in Medical Research, and Journal of Statistical Methodology.
