About
Dr. Bohler is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Policy & Community Health at the Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health at Georgia Southern University. He completed his Ph.D. in Social Policy with a focus in behavioral health policy at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University as a T32 National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism pre-doctoral fellow. He is trained in epidemiology, health services research, and health policy. Dr. Bohler’s research interests include treatment utilization and outcomes for substance use disorder (SUD), the role of harm reduction and recovery support services to improve the lives of those with SUD, and real-word translation of science into practice in the SUD field, with a particular focus on rural areas and populations. He has a strong passion for working with colleagues and communities to develop innovative responses to the addiction and overdose crisis in the United States.
