About
Dr. Swati Goel has been a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Interior Architecture and Design Program at Georgia Southern University since Fall 2024. Swati has a Ph.D. in Planning, Design, and the Built Environment from Clemson University, focusing on healthcare design research. She also holds a master's in architectural design and research from the University of Michigan and a bachelor's in architecture from India. Swati, a licensed architect in India, spent 5 years as an architectural designer before transitioning into built environment research. Her interdisciplinary research within the built environment and human factors is complemented by her strong advocacy for mental health in the workplace. At Georgia Southern, she teaches the foundational design studio and a lecture on human-centered design. She is also working on obtaining her EDAC and NICIDQ certifications while engaging in teaching, research, and service within her academic position.
