Prof. Case joined Georgia Southern University in 1981 and retired in 2017.

Dr. Case earned his A.B. in Psychology from Davidson College in 1974. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Georgia in 1979 and 1982, respectively. Dr. Case joined the faculty of Georgia Southern as an assistant professor of management in 1981. He was promoted to associate professor in 1986, and to full professor in 1992. During the summers of 1986 and 1987, Dr. Case attended faculty development institutes at the University of Minnesota and University of Indiana to address the Uni- versity’s need for information systems educators with doc- toral qualifcations. As the result of transitioning to informa- tion systems, Dr. Case has taught 23 diferent undergraduate courses and 10 diferent graduate courses during his tenure at Georgia Southern. In 2003, Dr. Case received the College of Business’s Crider Award for teaching excellence and in 2004, he earned the Georgia Southern University Excellence in Contributions to Instruction Award. Dr. Case has published fve textbooks, more than 30 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, and more than 80 conference proceedings articles. He received the School of Business Research Award in 1986 and has earned numerous Best Paper awards and nominations. In 1999 and 2000, Dr. Case co-authored two widely-distributed monographs commissioned by the state of Georgia’s intellectual capital (ICAPP) program that rec- ommended state enablement of a high technology corridor in southeast Georgia; these contributed to the state’s decision to construct the Information Technology Building at Georgia Southern. In 1995, Dr. Case was awarded the Georgia South- ern University Excellence in Service Award. He has chaired multiple university-level committees, including the Faculty Research Committee, the Faculty Development and Welfare Committee, the Institutional Review Board, and multiple search committees. Dr. Case accumulated 10 years of service as department chair or acting department chair and helped his department earn its regional and national reputation as an enterprise systems talent source. Dr. Case has served the in- formation systems discipline as founder and President of the Southern Association of Information Systems, and President of the International Academy for Information Management. He has also served as a member of the Executive Council for the America’s Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS), co-chair of the 2014 AMCIS Conference, and as a member of the editorial boards for multiple information systems journals. Because of his distinguished contributions to the in- stitution’s teaching, research, and service missions, Dr. Case deserves recognition as Professor Emeritus of Information Systems.*
