Prof. Hu was a Professor of Mathematics at Georgia Southern University. 
 
Dr. Yingkang Hu passed away due to a sudden heart attack in March 10, 2016.
Dr. Hu joined Georgia Southern University in 1989 as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 1995 and to Full Professor in 2000. Prior to his positions at Georgia Southern Dr. Hu was at the University of South Carolina where he earned his PhD in Mathematics in 1989.  He received a BS in Mathematics from Beijing University of Chemical Technology in 1982. He published over 30 refereed research articles and presented talks at national and international conferences. He was the Graduate Program Director for the department’s masters program from 1998-2002. Dr. Hu served the Georgia Southern community with distinction and will be remembered for his dedication to his students.
