Abstract
Column generation (CG) is proposed to solve the product line design problem. The product line design problem is defined as determining the product attributes of a set of products for a firm to offer so as to maximize its market share provided by the set of products in the line. Our empirical results suggest that an LP-based heuristic using column generation performs quite well.
