A Gendered Assessment of Situational Action Theory

Research output: Contribution to conferencePresentation

Abstract

Situational action theory is a relatively new criminological theory. Several studies have shown promising support for many of the theory's key propositions. Using a sample of serious juvenile offenders, this research assesses whether or not the key interactions proposed by Wikstrom function similarly for males and females. The differences in gendered effects are discussed as well as their implications for the continued development of situational action theory.
