Abstract

A Miniaturized Circularly Polarized Yagi antenna for ground based communication with cube satellites is designed. The total volume of the antenna is 0.273λ × 0.273λ × 0.0584λ, and the electrical size is a kr of 1.23. A gain of 5.53 dBic is achieved while maintaining an axial ratio of less than 3 dB across the desired bandwidth of the VHF Orbiting Satellite Carrying Amateur Radio band.
