A Partially Length-y Conversation: Understanding the Number Line and Fractions

Abstract

In this session we discuss how a length representation of quantities can be used to help understand how to represent fractions. We show how to use this model in traditional and technological environments to better understand the number line and to add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions.
