Abstract

A rectangular spiral top-loaded UHF (910 MHz) passive RFID tag antenna is presented for road marker navigation system. The height of the antenna is reduced to 19 mm (0.057λ) in order to be enclosed in a road marker while maintaining the self-resonance and conical radiation pattern. The 10-dB operating frequency band of the antenna is 0.82%. The maximum directivity of the antenna is 4.17 dBi, and the efficiency is 85%.
