N2 - (Figure Presented) Star GaZr: The X-ray structure of 1 (see picture; Ga pink, Zr blue, Cl green, C gold) illustrates a new metal-metal bonding motif between gallium and zirconium atoms: a gallium atom bonded to two zirconium atoms. Spectroscopic and computational data support the presence of a bridging Zr-H-Zr hydride in 1 that was undetected by single-crystal X-ray analysis.
