Abstract

A wideband, slot antenna fed by a micro strip line is proposed to generate circular polarization. The total volume of the antenna is 0.275 × 0.275 × 0.008 and the electrical size is a kr of 1.23. In simulation, the achieved operational -10-dB impedance bandwidth is between 1.56 GHz and 3.44 GHz (75%) and 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth is between 1.89 GHz and 3.41 GHz (57%). The 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth is fully included in the -10-dB impedance bandwidth. The averaged realized gain of the antenna is 3.3 dBic in the common bandwidth.
