Abstract

A wideband, pattern reconfigurable, compact Yagi antenna is proposed using a driven element in a bow-tie shape and two parasitic wires positioned on the opposite sides of the driven element. The radiation pattern is reconfigured with PIN diode switches located in the middle of the parasitic elements. The -10-dB impedance bandwidth is 30% (2.15 GHz ∼ 2.91 GHz) and the average realized gain is about 5.8 dB over the bandwidth.
