Abstract

The computational scheme and the basic idea of the Flux-Corrected Transport (FCT) method were studied. With the numerical simulation of one-dimensional stress waves, its applications to finite difference method and finite element method were also discussed. The results show that the FCT method is very efficient in accurate describing the shock waves and eliminating the dispersive fluctuation behind the shock front.
