Abstract

We administered measures of attitudes about life during the presidency of Donald Trump, gun beliefs, opinion of Donald Trump, and celebrity admiration to participants from two American universities and one college. The results revealed a relationship between celebrity admiration and gun beliefs. Results also revealed relationships among opinion of Donald Trump, opinion of life in the United States during his presidency and gun beliefs. However, our findings did not reveal a relationship between celebrity admiration and opinion of Donald Trump. Controlling for the other measures in the study, only the opinion of life during his presidency was predictive of one’s opinion of Donald Trump. The implications of these results are discussed.
