Click-evoked acoustic reflex thresholds: Ipsilateral and contralateral activation.

Research output: Contribution to conferencePresentationpeer-review

Abstract

his study was designed to investigate the effect of activation mode (ipsi- versus contra-lateral) on click-evoked acoustic reflex thresholds in adults with normal hearing and middle ear function. The analyses revealed significantly better acoustic reflex thresholds during ipsilateral measures. These findings are discussed with reference to the anatomical differences in the ipsi- and contra-lateral reflex pathways. The possible functional significance of the differences in ipsilateral and contralateral acoustic reflex thresholds is also presented.
