Abstract

A Log Periodic Dipole Array antenna is orthogonally placed with a wideband bow-tie antenna to achieve bandwidth enhancement with circularly polarization. The simulated-10-dB impedance bandwidth is 30.2% (2.11 GHz ~ 2.86 GHz), and the 3-dB axial-ratio bandwidth is 24.5% (2.07 GHz ~ 2.65 GHz). The overlapped 3-dB axial-ratio and-10-dB impedance bandwidth is 22.6% (2.11 GHz ~ 2.65 GHz). The averaged realized gain is 4.7 dBic, and the maximum realized gain is 5.5 dBic over the bandwidth in common.
