Abstract
Weaver discuses the impact of digital image on the material world, curriculum theory, and in human bodies. He first discusses the meaning of the digital image, discusses the groundbreaking work of Mark Hansen in understanding the impact of the digital image on all facets of life, suggests that the major impact of the digital image is not technological but aesthetic, and then discusses some implications for doing curriculum theory in an age of digitalization while drawing on the historical non-relationships between curriculum theory and information technology. In regard to this last goal, he also suggests that everyone needs to move beyond technology as instrumentalism and static enframings if everyone is to begin to theorize the possible meanings of the digital image.
