Abstract

Value added service capabilities of data warehouse high-quality end-user metadata that are utilized by managers and knowledge workers are discussed. Many organizations have implemented data warehouses and business intelligence applications that serves to collect and integrate data and turn it into information that is accessible for query analysis to produce insight and inform and influence business decisions. Metadata helps data warehouse end users to understand the different types of information resources available from a data warehouse/business intelligence environment. Some of the factors that influence user attitudes and data warehouse use depends on end-user perception of level of quality of the data in the warehouse and the quality of training received regarding the content of the data warehouse. Users appreciate the value of metadata and suggests that there are opportunities to encourage increased levels of adoption and use of their data warehouses.
