Abstract
Rumor de Mar (2000) is a drama that deals with a broad spectrum of issues related to the dictatorship through the meta-theatre as a starting technique. This technique suggests that the playwright intends to point out the nature and scope of the theatre itself and not only of what could be considered as problematic or core theme of the work. In the case of Rumor de Mar, these topics are projected in the suffocating and alienating environment derived from a repressive political system, as well as psychological, both collective and individual, behaviors resulting from the same situation.
