Effective Blended Instruction: Learning to Overcome Challenges

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

This presentation highlights an action research on redesigning a face-to-face course for blended-delivery instruction to achieve student success. This study illustrates how a faculty member reconceptualizes her pedagogical approaches to fit the blended modality of instruction. Her pedagogical efforts for the successful design of technology-integrated learning environments started with searching for challenges in transforming her face-to-face course into a blended one, and analyzing the strengths and the weaknesses of both face-to-face and online modalities of instruction to capitalize on the strengths of both modalities in the new blended course. The presentation will offer some promises and warn about the pitfalls of adopting the blended mode of instruction.
