Abstract

Librarians and teaching faculty from three institutions will present case studies highlighting how student-led content creation enhances information literacy instruction. Panelists will describe the use of assignments, instructional methods, and technology to promote student engagement, including how student-led content creation contributes to development of knowledge practices and dispositions central to the ACRL’s Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education. This session will address practical, pedagogical, and technical considerations for supporting student-led content creation, including implementation, access control, protection of student privacy, and copyright and reuse. Panelists and attendees will share recommendations for best practices in the promotion of student-created content to foster higher-level learning and critical thinking, including strategies aligned with elements of the Framework.
