Abstract

Scholars have recently suggested that elements of real world community policing can be applied to virtual spaces in order to reduce cybercrime and disorder. This study will examine attitudes toward community policing on and off-line using a sample of line officers from two police departments in the southeastern United States. The findings consider any demographic correlates for these programs, and the relationship between the perceived value of both on and off-line community policing.
