Abstract

The ballistic resistance of Kevlar laminates is investigated by a series of ballistic impact tests. The effects of projectile noses, fiber orientation and target thickness on the perforation of Kevlar laminates are discussed. The failure modes are also analyzed. Ballistic limits of projectiles with different noses are predicted by an engineering analytical method. The results are in good agreement with the experiments.
