Abstract

This paper reports an experimentation on characterizing the nonlinear biaxial behavior of flexible plain weave fabric composites. Cruciform specimen with slits on the legs is chosen for biaxial test. Detailed experimental study is carried out for nylon/elastomer material system with maximum strain level up to 30%. Results of composite under various biaxial stress ratios and detailed information on its constituent materials are included in this paper. Considerable nonlinearity has been observed in the stress strain relationship of the composite.
