Abstract
Coprecipitation reaction soft chemistry method was employed to prepare fine (Y,Gd)PxV1-xO4:Eu3+ phosphor particles. SEM image showed the size of (Y,Gd)PxV1-xO 4:Eu3+ particles is uniform, homogeneous and smaller than 1 μm. XRD indicated that the prepared resultant has a tetragonal crystal structure. The red emission color purity and intensity of (Y,Gd)P xV1-xO4:Eu3+ phosphor is much better than and almost close to that of recent widely used commercial PDP phosphor (Y,Gd)BO3:Eu3+, respectively. It is expected that (Y,Gd)P0.2V0.8O4:Eu3+ phosphor would be a promising candidate for plasma display panels application.
