Abstract
Article Excerpt: Free speech. Debaters invoke it (often incorrectly and reliably via the First Amendment), particularly in online forums, as a reflexive defense against criticism. Whether the debate is complex and expansive or just plain petty, it’s almost a breath of fresh air when some aggrieved online combatant does not fall back on claims their free speech is being attacked.
