Abstract

The new John and Frances Angelos Law Center at the University of Baltimore School of Law is designed to  seek Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum certification, the highest certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, which would make it the first law school building in the United States to achieve this goal. After almost four and a half years of design and construction, the new law center has been completed and officially opened on April 16, with Vice President Joe Biden offering opening remarks. Located next to the famous Baltimore Penn Station in mid-town Baltimore, this 12-story, 190,000-square-foot law center was designed by Stuttgart, Germany-based architectural practice Behnisch Architekten in partnership with Baltimore's Ayers/Saint/Gross.
