Abstract

This chapter will examine how student affairs professionals learn supervision strategies and who is responsible for supervision training and education. The authors will review the impact of graduate education programs and how coursework and practical training may support development of supervision skills. The chapter will explore opportunities at professional conferences, university training programs, and the importance of self-motivation. The authors will lead the readers to examine the student affairs profession’s responsibility for learning and teaching supervision.
