Abstract

Logistics systems generally involve the management of products flowing through a system of processes. Consequently, logistics improvement efforts are frequently concerned with improving flow rates or system throughput. Many organizations are beginning to demonstrate remarkable improvements by applying a set of concepts and steps referred to as the Theory of Constraints. This article relates some of those successes and presents a fundamental introduction to the theory.
