Abstract

Two types of antennas which produce Omni-directional Circularly Polarized radiation from a single feed are presented. The first antenna is a spiral top loaded crossed dipole and the second antenna is a conical helix crossed dipole. Both antennas are reduced in size to a kr of 0.3 where Left-Hand Circular Polarization (LHCP) spans across 360° of the axial ratio radiation pattern. The S11 of both antennas match below -10 dB at 450 MHz to a 50 ω characteristic impedance.
