Abstract
<p> <p id="x-x-Par2"> Although critical theory provides the foundation for significant portion of the research in curriculum studies, social class is a missing element in the educational theoretical literature. Southern rural mostly white working class non-readers reaffirm Joe L. Kincheloe’s assertions that teaching socioeconomic class in colleges of education is of the utmost importance. Joe’s work made such discussions and considerations accessible and applicable. </p></p>
