Abstract

Effective TMTs can engage in cognitive conflict while limiting affective conflict. We studied 48 TMTs and found that both types of conflict were positively related to team size. We also found that tolerant and mutually cooperative interaction norms were positively related to cognitive conflict and negatively related to affective conflict.
