Abstract
The purpose of the presentation will be to provide PETE faculty with an overview of a comprehensive assessment program to evaluate and improve program effectiveness and meet the new initial teaching standards from the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (2008). The recent changes to the new standards present a challenge for educators to validly assess pre-service teacher competencies. A coordinated approach to program assessment is vital to provide evidence based-outcomes of these competencies.
