Mindfulness, Mattering, and Spirituality: Supervision Considerations

Research output: Contribution to conferencePresentation

Abstract

Mindfulness and mattering are viable constructs used in counseling and therapeutic contexts; however, their application to school-based counseling has been limited. In this interactive presentation, these notions, particularly as they relate to the work of pre-service school counselors, are explored within the context of supervision. A conceptual and research review is provided within a social constructivist view of spirituality. Practical implications to nurturing student spirituality are included as well.
