MOCA Normative Data on Young Adults Using an Adapted Version and Remote Administration via Zoom

Research output: Contribution to conferencePresentationpeer-review

Abstract

Data from 39 women and 45 men with auditory thresholds within normal limits and a minimum score of 51 on the digits-in-noise test were included in this study. Participants ranged in age between 18 and 28 years. The Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) was administered remotely, via Zoom. We followed the instructions available during COVID-19 for remote administration of the test with some adaptations for consistent delivery of verbal stimuli. The mean total MOCA score in our 84 participants was 27.95 (95% CI: 27.60 to 28.30) with a standard deviation of 1.605. The scores ranged from 23 to 30. Detailed descriptive statistics of the total and subtest scores and clinical applications for young adults with traumatic brain injuries will be discussed.

Learning Outcome(s):
Describe the remote administration of the MOCA test with some adaptations for consistent delivery of verbal stimuli
Describe the normative results for young adults with normal auditory sensitivity
Discuss the potential applications of normative data obtained from young adults
