Abstract

A real-time optical/digital hybrid system for fingerprint identification based on the 1-f joint transform correlation was developed. The fingerprint was read by using the total internal reflection property of a prism and was pre-processed by two-order differentiation algorithm. The joint transform power spectrum can be binarized visually by adjusting the monitor. This system is compact in structure and has wide application in practice, and the experimental results show that it performs well.
