Abstract

A concrete material model for penetration computation was presented, and the ogive-noded rod projectile penetrating concrete target was simulated by a 3D finite element program. The results of normal impact arc in good agreement with the experiments, and the development of crater and penetration hole were also obtained. Oblique penetrating of different incline angles and initial velocities are simulated and analyzed. The attained conclusions show that the method and the program are reasonable and effective, and it is a useful method for the numerical study of impact penetrations.
