Odd fibbinary numbers and the golden ratio

Abstract

The fibbinary numbers arc positive integers whose binary representation contains no consecutive ones. We prove the following result: If the jth odd fibbinary is the nth odd fibbinary number, then j = [nØ2] - 1.
