Abstract

The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) is dedicated to training, technical assistance, model program evaluation, and research to support agency efforts. The OJJDP’s Research Unit is an internal research component that produces rigorous and timely research, evaluations, and statistical analyses that impact the field of juvenile justice through partnerships with institutions, states, and organizations. The Model Programs Guide is one of the largest resources for academics, practitioners, and communities about what works, what is promising, and what does not work in juvenile justice, delinquency prevention, and child safety. The OJJDP Statistical Briefing Book is a publicly available electronic database about juvenile crime, victimization, and court processing. Some of the data sets in the Compendium of National Juvenile Justice Datasets are based on studies conducted by the OJJDP, while others are longitudinal studies that emerged based on working relationships between external researchers, agencies, and the OJJDP.
