Abstract
Francesca Diano’s short story, translated by Laura Valeri below, is from her collection of stories Fiabe d’amor crudele ( Tales of cruel love ), published in 2013 by Edizioni La Gru. In 2012, Diano was awarded the Premio Teramo, the Italian literary prize for short stories, awarded in its long history to some of the most celebrated Italian writers.
