Abstract
A method to develop long persistent phosphors of any designated coloration was described by exploiting the phenomenon of optical energy transfer. It was observed that the coloration of the afterglow changed from deep blue in the singly doped Ce3+ aluminate sample to the characteristic green of Tb3+ in the doubly doped CaAl2O4 samples.
