Abstract
We have investigated the phonon propagation in a YAG:Pr3+ single crystal fiber. Phonon generation by defect-induced one-phonon absorption of far infrared radiation combined with vibronic sideband spectroscopy is used to study the dynamics of phonon propagation with spectral, temporal and spatial resolution.
